Welcome to Enrollment Services

(2015-2016 school year)

Click here to locate your child's neighborhood school.

Enrollment takes place at WJUSD Enrollment Services Department on a first-come, first-served basis or go on line to pre-register before coming in. Every attempt will be made to place new students at their neighborhood school. The District cannot guarantee such placement, however, and reserves the right to place new students at other schools (for the balance of the current school year) within the District as necessary when a grade-level enrollment capacity is reached at a particular school.

Children are eligible for Kindergarten if they will be five (5) years of age on or before September 1, 2011.

Your registration is complete when the following documents are returned to WJUSD Enrollment Services Department:

  • Proof of Birth (a COPY of the original Birth Certificate, Passport or Baptismal Certificate confirming that your child was born on or before September 1, 2011 (for the 2016-2017 school year).

  • Proof of Immunizations (a COPY of immunization records with annotated physician signatures verifying dates of immunizations is required)

  • Proof of Residency (a COPY of TWO of the following documents:

  1. Utility service payment receipt (gas/electric/water/garbage/cable/home telephone) indicating the street address and parent/guardian name.
  2. Mortgage payment receipt indicating the street address and parent/guardian name.
  3. Escrow papers with closing date and escrow # indicating the street address and parent/guardian name.
  4. Rent payment receipt or rental agreement on official letterhead including the manager's or owner's name and phone number indicating the street address and the parent's or guardian's name.
  5. Home Insurance receipt indicating the street address and parent/guardian name.

Upon enrollment of a student residing in the home of a care giving adult within District boundaries, the care giving adult shall execute, under penalty of perjury, the affidavit specified in Family Code 6552.

Open enrollment is a process to request a school other than your neighborhood school. Once you receive your open enrollment results, you will be assigned to your school of choice – which becomes your residence school – or you will be placed on the waiting list for that site.

We are excited to offer parents a choice of excellent schools. Families who reside in the Woodland Unified School District have the opportunity to enroll students in any of the District’s schools providing:

  • Space is available in the appropriate program (available space is determined by defined physical and program capacity of the school after placement of enrolled resident students) and,
  • Families are willing to provide transportation.

The District does not provide transportation for students on an Inter-District Agreement. 1

Open Enrollment Period

Interdistrict Transfer

Inter-District Agreements (IDA) are renewed annually for outgoing or incoming students to the WJUSD.

Students who reside in one district may choose to attend school in another district. An "Inter-District Agreement Request/Permit" form must be obtained from the District Office of residency and returned to that same office for processing before a request will be considered.

The Superintendent or designee may deny initial requests for Inter-District Agreement if the school's facilities are overcrowded at the relevant grade level and based on other considerations that are not arbitrary.

Students who are under consideration for expulsion or who have been expelled may not appeal Inter-District Agreement denials or decisions while expulsion proceedings are pending, or during the term of the expulsion. (Education Code 35160.5)

The District does not provide transportation for students on an Inter-District Agreement. 1

An annual application must be submitted. If requesting to attend WJUSD, contact your district of residence to start the process. If requesting to transfer out of WJUSD, contact Adriana Gómez in Enrollment Services Department, at (530) 406-3240 [FAX (530) 669-5918] or by email at or you can download the forms by visiting our web page, and click on the Enrollment Services Link.
