Teacher Resources

Changes to Elementary Assessments

During the school year 2011-12, teachers at Elementary Action Team meetings and Administrators at Curriculum and Instruction meetings, made some adjustments to the Elementary Assessment Program.  You can download a document with the changes here .  The goals in making the changes were:  (1) to cut down on the amount of one on one testing, especially at the kindergarten level, (2) to assess on a reading passage that is a more accurate reflection of students' ability to read at grade level, and (3) to implement a screening assessment at all elementary grades for language arts.

Scores for Benchmark 3 assessments are due on June 6.  WRITE Assessment scores are due on May 31.

Elementary Standards Based Report Cards

At the elementary level, teachers use a Standards Based Report Card which is aligned to the Essential Standards for Language Arts. This report card helps students, teachers, and parents focus on grade level standards from the beginning of the school year. Report cards are created in ABI, which teachers also use to take attendance.
