Parents and family members of incoming kindergarten students are invited to attend one of six upcoming informational meetings regarding Woodland Joint Unified School District’s Dual Immersion (DI) Program.
The meetings provide helpful information, as well as serve as the required orientation for parents/guardians who would like to enroll their incoming kindergartner in the DI Program for the 2017-18 school year.
Meetings will take place at the WJUSD Board Room at 435 6th Street in Woodland. Parents/guardians only need to attend one meeting. Times and dates are as follows:
- Tuesday, March 14, at 9 a.m. or 6 p.m.
- Wednesday, April 12, at 9 a.m. or 6 p.m.
- Tuesday, May 23, at 9 a.m. or 6 p.m.
At the meeting, parents/guardians will receive an overview of the DI Program and have the opportunity to ask questions. Three WJUSD elementary schools - Beamer, Dingle and Woodland Prairie - currently offer the DI Program for incoming kindergarten students.
Parents interested in enrolling their student in the DI Program should first complete kindergarten registration for their student and then apply for the DI program starting Monday, April 3rd, at the WJUSD Enrollment Center Office or online at www.wjusd.org (note: enrollment to your neighborhood school is required before you can request a DI program.)
Childcare and Spanish translation will be provided at each meeting. For more information, please call Maria Orozco, English Learner Services Coordinator, at 530-406-3249.
