WJUSD Now Accepting Applications for Dual Immersion Program and Intradistrict Open Enrollment

Woodland Joint Unified School District is now accepting applications for its Dual Immersion (DI) Program and Intradistrict Open Enrollment (enrollment to another WJUSD elementary school). This year, applications for both of these enrollment options are available online: https://schoolchoice.wjusd.org

Each application requires a username and password, which are different for each student. The username and password for each student is:

  • Username = your child’s Permanent Identification Number
  • Password = your child’s birthdate, including “slashes” (mm/dd/yyyy)

Families must also ensure that their student is enrolled in their neighborhood school before submitting their DI or Open Enrollment application, otherwise their application will not be considered.

Dual Immersion
Application Period: Begins Monday, April 3, 2017 (no deadline)
Dual Immersion Program is a two-way bilingual instruction program which provides both English speaking and Spanish speaking students the opportunity to acquire fluency in two languages. The schools that offer Dual Immersion for Kindergarten are:  Beamer Park Elementary, Dingle Elementary, and Woodland Prairie Elementary. To learn more about the Dual Immersion Program, families should attend one of the below informational meetings at the District Office:

  • Wednesday, April 12 at 9 a.m. or 6 p.m.
  • Tuesday, May 23 at 9 a.m. or 6 p.m.

Intradistrict Open Enrollment
Application Period: Monday, April 3 – Friday, April 14.
Intradistrict Open Enrollment is available for families who want to attend a school other than the neighborhood school, based on space availability.  Seats are allocated through a random lottery process.  Students placed in any school requested through Intradistrict Open Enrollment will be considered residents of that school.

All completed Open Enrollment applications and proof of residency must be received by 4:00 p.m., on Friday, April 14, 2017. Proof of residency may be uploaded with your online application or delivered to the Enrollment Services Department.

Families are invited to visit the Enrollment Services Department for assistance in filling out the application.  The office is open Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m., and Thursdays from 9 a.m. – 6 p.m.
