Tom Pritchard Appointed Interim Superintendent

The Woodland Joint Unified School District (WJUSD) Board of Trustees appointed WJUSD Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources Tom Pritchard the interim superintendent at its April 12 Board Meeting.

Pritchard joined WJUSD in 2013 to lead the Human Resources (HR) Department. Since Pritchard started, WJUSD HR has implemented free volunteer finger printing, launched a new hiring process and significantly reduced the number of vacancies at the start of the school year.

Previously, Pritchard worked as an educator and administrator at Live Oak Unified School District for 25 years, 11 of which he served as superintendent. He earned a zoology degree at UC Davis and attended CSU, Chico for his teaching credential. Pritchard later earned a master’s in educational management and an administrative credential from the University of La Verne.

“We are very happy to have Tom as our interim superintendent, we have every confidence in him and our District team,” said Morgan Childers, president, WJUSD Board of Trustees. “Moving forward, we will work with the community to develop an applicant profile that represents our District and identify a candidate that matches our needs.”

The interim appointment will last until the District identifies a new superintendent. The WJUSD Board of Trustees will further outline a search process at a future Board Meeting.
