Tom Pritchard Appointed WJUSD Superintendent

The Woodland Joint Unified School District (WJUSD) Board of Trustees appointed WJUSD Interim Superintendent Tom Pritchard the superintendent at its Sept. 28 Board Meeting.

Pritchard joined WJUSD in 2013 to lead the Human Resources (HR) Department. In April 2017, he was appointed the District’s interim superintendent to ensure the smooth operations of the District

“We are excited to have Tom as our superintendent and know that he will provide the stability and leadership our District needs and deserves,” said Morgan Childers, president, WJUSD Board of Trustees. “In reviewing the community feedback we received, it was clear that Tom would continue to be the right person to lead Woodland Joint Unified.”

Previously, Pritchard worked as an educator and administrator at Live Oak Unified School District for 25 years, 11 of which he served as superintendent. He earned a zoology degree at UC Davis and attended CSU, Chico for his teaching credential. Pritchard later earned a master’s in educational management and an administrative credential from the University of La Verne.

“Serving our school district throughout the last four years has allowed me to work with a great team and amazing students and families,” said Pritchard. “Moving into the superintendent role is a great honor and I look forward to further working with our community to support our students.”
