Superintendent's Message

2014-15 School Year

As Superintendent of Woodland Joint Unified School District, it is an honor and a privilege to serve the students, staff, parents and community of Woodland.

The community of Woodland is nestled just north of Sacramento. The population is slightly over 55,000 residents, of which nearly 10,000 students are educated and attend Woodland Joint Unified School District. Woodland prides itself on being a family community, providing all the nuances of a city, with the charm of a small town. With a rich history, Woodland Joint Unified School District continues to collaborate with community members to ensure traditions of the past are threaded with the innovations of the future.

The school district’s Board of Trustees, as stated in the Vision, Mission and Goals, believe in providing a safe, supporting, and positive learning environment for all students and staff. Our district is compelled to create partnerships with parents who are actively involved in all aspects, and in all grade levels of their children’s educational journey.

It will take us all, our district and our community, to ensure that the youth of Woodland are afforded a foundational sense of community, along with academic, emotional and social successes, so that they too can one day be productive and proud citizens.

In closing, it is my personal goal to be a positive, enthusiastic leader and work collaboratively to ensure all our students benefit from the best educational experience possible. Let’s make this a successful, awesome and rewarding school year!

Respectfully,
