Textbook Adoption Process
Board Policy 6161.1 outlines the process for selection of instructional materials. Briefly, the steps in the adoption cycle include:
- Review of publisher materials by district teachers and staff, including at a publisher fair
- Selection of a pilot committee
- Pilot of materials, including feedback cycles for piloting teachers and students
- Debrief and consensus of adoption recommendation
- Public display of materials
- Review and approval of adoption recommendation by the College and Career Articulation Team
- Review and approval of adoption recommendation by the WJUSD Board of Trustees
