About WJUSD

Formed in 1965, Woodland Joint Unified School District (WJUSD) proudly serves nearly 10,000 students from preschool through adult education throughout 18 schools in the communities of Woodland, Knights Landing, Yolo, and Zamora.

Our mission is to prepare and empower all students for a future of endless possibilities.

In addition to our core programs, we offer a curriculum for English Language Learners, special needs students, gifted and talented education, preschool, independent study, and homeschooling, as well as a variety of adult programs.

Known as the City of Trees, the Woodland community is located in the heart of Yolo County, just 20 miles from downtown Sacramento and 85 miles from San Francisco.

Woodland is a richly diverse community with a proud agricultural heritage, sweeping farmlands, and stately Victorian homes. With a population of more than 50,000 people, the Woodland community is very supportive of our public schools.
