Application for Vacant School Board Position for Trustee Area 6
The Woodland Joint Unified School District is accepting applications to fill the vacancy on its Board of Trustees for Trustee Area 6.
Hard-copy applications are also available in the Superintendent’s office, 435 Sixth St., Woodland, CA 95695. Completed hard-copy applications can be mailed (no postmark) or hand-delivered to the Superintendent’s office or submitted via email to maribeth.villalobos@wjusd.org by the 5 p.m. March 13, 2023 deadline.
The Board extended the deadline at its March 9 Board meeting to allow more time for applicants who may have been affected by potential power outages due to the storm and to encourage additional participation.
Applicants must reside in Trustee Area 6, be a registered voter, and be over 18 years of age. Click here to view the map showing the boundaries for Trustee Area 6. To confirm the trustee area number that is designated for your address, contact the Yolo Elections Office at (530) 666-8133.
In open session on Thursday, March 16, 2023 and (if needed) on Monday, March 20, 2023, at 5 p.m., the Board of Trustees will conduct oral interviews with candidates who have applied for the vacant position of Trustee Area 6.
At the Feb. 23, 2023 Regular Board Meeting, the Board of Trustees added a March 16, 2023 Special Board Meeting in the event more time is needed to review applications and interview candidates. Should more time be needed, the interviews and selection process will continue on a Special Board Meeting on Monday, March 20.
The provisional appointment selected will serve on the Board until Dec. 13, 2024. At that time, an election to fill the remainder of the Trustee Area 6 seat will occur and the winner will serve through 2026.
