Dear WJUSD Families, Staff, and Community,

This week we shared very important information about the opioid epidemic and rising overdoses, especially with fentanyl, which are happening to young people throughout the country.

While this is alarming, please know that the safety of our students and staff is our number one priority. We have existing precautions in place at each school and we are currently adding to our growing list of safety measures.

You can help by reviewing the information and talking to your children and families about avoiding these dangerous drugs. If you would like to review the message, you can find it here.

This week’s update includes:

  • Reminder: No School on Nov. 10 - 11. Happy Veterans Day!
  • Career Technical Education (CTE) Showcase Nov. 9
  • Board of Trustees Update

Respectfully,
Elodia Ortega-Lampkin
Superintendent
