WOODLAND, Calif. - The Woodland Joint Unified School District Board of Trustees approved the employment of a new director of fiscal services on Sept. 8.

Norma Palomar, who has 10 years of experience working in the district’s finance department, has been promoted to fill the director-level position.

“I am very excited about my new role as the director of fiscal services,” said Palomar. “I have been with the district for 16 years and throughout my time in Woodland, the staff and community have been amazing. I’m grateful for this opportunity and I look forward to continuing to work and support our staff and families in my new role.”

Palomar, who graduated from CSU Sacramento with a degree in business, started in the district’s special education department as an administrative secretary in 2006. Since then she has taken on various roles and leadership responsibilities, including accounting analyst and supervisor of fiscal services.

“I admire Norma’s loyalty and commitment to WJUSD,” said WJUSD Associate Superintendent of Business Services Lewis Wiley. “I look forward to working with her as well as watching her grow as the director of fiscal services.”
