Elementary Expanding Minds Summer Intersession
📅 Dates: June 8 - July 21, 2026 (Closed on Juneteenth and July 3)
📍 Location: Tafoya (including Dual Immersion) and Plainfield
⏰ Hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday
📚 Program: For current TK-5 students. This program offers small group instruction in the morning, project-based learning, and enrichment in the afternoon.
🚌 Services Provided: If the assigned site is not the student's home school, transportation from a neighborhood school to the summer intersession site will be provided. Families must submit transportation requests (Transportation Request) by May 16, 2026. Transportation will be available for Zamora, Yolo, or Knights Landing students. Enrolled students will be provided with breakfast, lunch, and snacks.

⏰ Hours: 8:30-12:30 Monday-Friday
📚 Program: Open to current 6th, 7th and 8th graders. Skill-focused academic intervention in math, reading, writing, and science, with elective options for exploration and fun. Each student will take 4 classes- a combination of academics and electives- to maintain and expand their academic skills through hands-on and interactive lessons and activities.

📍 Location: Virtual learning, coursework through Edgenuity with teacher support via Google Meet, and available in-person tutoring at Woodland High School Learning Center

🤝 Partnered with UC Davis EAOP, Empower Yolo, and WJUSD
📚 Program: Leadership development, personal strengths, and college readiness (includes campus and college visits). The Freshman Leadership Academy is a FREE summer academy for incoming 9th-graders attending Pioneer or Woodland High School. The 4-week program runs at the same time as summer school. Participants must commit to the entire duration of the academy.

Program: Enrichment Academy is a summer program for students currently in grades 4-8, looking for challenges in STEAM subject areas. Highlights this year include rockets, engineering, math, games, and art.

Kindercamp (in partnership with YMCA)
Run in classrooms on an elementary school site each summer, KinderCamp students participate in a variety of learning opportunities focused on increasing skills in math, literacy, social interactions, problem-solving, and cause/effect. Every day a child attends, they return home with a brand-new book. They also receive a healthy lunch, participate in a weekly Kids Farmer’s Market, and receive hygiene education.
