Superintendent's Update April 2022

April 2022

April 2022

Headshot of Superintendent Elodia Ortega-Lampkin
Dear WJUSD Community,

Spring is here and graduation is right around the corner. As a reminder, schools and our District Office will be closed during Spring break, April 18 - 22.

It’s been quite a year filled with many transitions and many success stories from throughout our District.

Most recently our robotics team won the regional championship, one of our great coaches was named Coach of the Year, and one of our excellent middle school students won the City of Woodland’s Cesar Chavez Essay Contest. We have celebrated so many academic and athletic accomplishments.

But we’re not done yet.

We still have two more months of school and I expect we’ll see more great things happening around our District.

So let’s keep up the great work and finish the year strong.

But for now, have a restful Spring Break with your friends and family. You all deserve it!

Respectfully,

Elodia Ortega-Lampkin
Superintendent

Career Technical Education (CTE)

Families from throughout our District attended our Career Technical Education (CTE) on April 13 to learn all about the various pathways available at Pioneer and Woodland high schools, as well as Woodland Community College.

Everyone had an opportunity to visit the different booths and learn about the different programs. Here’s a photo of me learning from students about how to do the Heimlich maneuver. It was a fun event!
